T. Lynn Harper, Senior Associate

T. Lynn Harper, Director-Marketing & Sales Project Management, STEVEN YOUNG WORLDWIDE, is a marketing management professional nearly 25 years of field marketing & sales experience. Included is a proven track record of positioning products to increase market share and profitability. She is a graduate of the Business & Marketing Management program at Texas A&M University, College Station, TX.

From 1978-1989 Ms. Harper held a variety of sales & marketing positions with THE QUAKER OATS COMPANY (Chicago, Tampa, Atlanta, Winston-Salem.) In these positions Ms. Harper took leadership roles in directing field sales and brand management of a variety of retail food products. Key was directing positioning, and repositioning, of new and existing product lines to improve market and financial performance. This included strategic and long term planning, market plan development and implementation, advertising and promotional programs and maximizing return on invested capital.

In 1989 Ms. Harper held position of Group Marketing Manager, Professional Division, HELENE CURTIS, INC., Chicago. Responsibilities included management of new product development, introduction, and marketing, advertising, trade & consumer communications, and promotional programs.

From 1991-1994 Ms. Harper held positions as Group Marketing Manager and Central Region Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Manager for GRACE-SIERRA HORTICULTURAL PRODUCTS COMPANY (Milpitas, CA; Dallas, TX.) As Group Marketing Manager, Ms Harper was responsible for all marketing programs in support of new and existing professional products. These included all products sold to nurseries, greenhouses, and other growers. As Central SBU Manager, Ms. Harper directed all daily business activities of the companies largest SBU which included field sales, field technical services, customer service, marketing, and general administration.

In 1994 Ms. Harper became Director of a new nursery, ornamental, and consumer retail horticultural products start-up division of GRIFFIN CORPORATION (Houston, TX.) In this capacity Ms. Harper took new, innovative technologies from concept through commercialization and ultimately into market distribution. Included was management and direction of customer & consumer marketing research, marketing programs, advertising, financial, and internal and external technology and product development.

Since 1996, Ms. Harper has been an independent sales & marketing consultant and project manager and Director, STEVEN YOUNG WORLDWIDE, Sugar Land, TX, servicing both business-to-business and consumer products companies. Processed and packaged retail and specialty foods (gourmet, all natural, organic) are areas of focus. Special expertise includes strategic and long term planning, product development, product repositioning, project management, and program implementation. Development and training of marketing and sales professionals is also an offered service. Clientele include small-to-large businesses as well as multi-national organizations foreign and domestic.
